Lauren Underwoods’ season 2 arc of Glee has officially been announced, with the singer-songwriter taking to Twitter to announce that she will perform the song “Ain’t No Place Like Home” in season 2 of The Voice.
The song, from her latest album Gossip Girl, was released on April 23, and the singer previously revealed that she was in talks with NBC for a Glee reunion.
Underwood’s new role will come as part the show’s second season.
“This is a really exciting time for Glee,” Underwood said.
“We are so excited to work with Lauren again and see what she can bring to the show.
I am looking forward to playing this song with my Glee friends!”
Underwood’s Gossip Girls character is a transgender woman named Kara, who plays a role on Glee that mirrors the one she played on Gossip, as a transgender teen.
She has a “glamorous and unique” life, which she describes as a “dream life,” as Kara describes it in the song.
She is also “in love” with a man named Jason.
Gossip was also the first song written for Underwood by her band, The Vibes.
In addition to her new role, Underwood will also appear on The Voice as part-time musical guest, as she was rumored to be doing so in Season 2.
The Voice airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
ET/PT on NBC.
